Nearly half of people who took part in the survey chose the location due to its significance to them (or their spouse), and 37 percent of them invited their guests to an event that wasn't in their hometown or in the city where they live. About 80 percent of couples said that they had stayed at the venue over the course of the night, and so did the majority of their guests. Also, 20% of couples had to fly to their wedding location which means that their guests probably too. This is reflected in the average cost of being a wedding guest that fluctuates from year to year. The average guest spending for those who travel in any way (either by car or air) ranges from $600 and $1,440, according to our data.
